Towards a Space-Powered Economy

Space Applications for Competitive, Sustainable Economies and Resilient Societies eventthat will be held at ECSAT in Harwell (UK) on 25-26 November.

The event, organised by the BASS team, will address the opportunities and challenges of the utilisation of space technologies, data and assets for the non-space economic sectors.
 
At this event, ESA will showcase the work of BASS as a key driver for sustainable innovation across European industry, with endorsements by speakers from leading companies. The ESA Director General and the Directors of CSC and CIC, together with senior managers from the private sector, will speak, fostering discussion on sustainable businesses and digital innovation topics.
 
The event will:

  • Demonstrate how user-driven innovation is critical to achieving a greater integration of space into the wider economy, in the context of the digital economy

  • Showcase the impact of space applications on non-space economies

  • Foster a dialogue between stakeholders, developing links between industrial ecosystems

  • Outline the opportunities offered by BASS for financial, technical and business support.

 
A networking dinner will be held on 25 November evening at Keble College, University of Oxford.
