From 8 to 12 October 2029, Geneva will host the 80th International Astronautical Congress (IAC), one of the world’s leading gatherings of the global space community. This achievement is a major international recognition of Switzerland’s scientific, technological and industrial excellence.
The Swiss Pavilion at IAC 2026: Bringing Switzerland’s Space Community Together
At IAC 2026 in Antalya, Türkiye, Space Exchange Switzerland led the Swiss Pavilion, bringing together key players from Switzerland’s space ecosystem to showcase their expertise, technologies and innovations on the international stage.
The Pavilion served as a meeting point for Swiss companies, institutions, international partners and visitors throughout the Congress. With daily presentations, networking opportunities, interactive activities and the Swiss Space Coffee Corner, it provided a welcoming space to connect, exchange ideas and discover the diversity of Switzerland’s space sector.

The Pavilion also played an important role in promoting Geneva’s candidacy to host IAC 2029. Through presentations, discussions and the screening of the candidature film, the Swiss delegation shared its vision for welcoming the global space community to Geneva under the motto “Celebrating Space, Building Trust.”
Geneva at the Heart of the Global Space Community
The announcement of Geneva as the host city for IAC 2029 made this edition particularly memorable, turning months of preparation, collaboration and collective commitment into a shared achievement.
It is official: Geneva has been selected to host the International Astronautical Congress (IAC) 2029, following the congress held in Antalya, Türkiye. This marks the successful conclusion of a joint bid led by Swissmem, the Swiss Space Industries Group (SSIG) and the Swiss Space Office (SSO), with the support of numerous institutional, academic and industrial partners, including Space Exchange Switzerland (SXS) and the Geneva Convention Bureau.
From 8 to 12 October 2029, Palexpo (Geneva) is expected to welcome thousands of representatives from industry, space agencies, research institutions, start-ups and governments. The congress will provide an exceptional platform to exchange ideas on the latest developments in the space sector, foster new partnerships and help shape the future of space exploration and activities.
This edition will also hold special significance as it marks the 80th anniversary of the congress.
A big thank you to all our partners, sponsors and everyone who visited the Swiss Pavilion and contributed to making this edition a success. Together, we look forward to continuing this journey towards Geneva 2029.
