As part of the official UZH delegation, they presented their innovative approach to contribute to the monitoring of genetic diversity with help of satellite Earth observation data within different events such as in the pavilion “Data to Action” or their presence at the booth of the Coalition for Genetic Conservation. The initiative is targeting the reporting of the official Headline Indicator A.4 as part of the Kumming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. The ESA project EO4Genetic Indicator is currently on-going to support this initiative and to further develop and test an online tool to allow countries to more easily report on this indicator.

Side Event: Oliver Selmoni (UZH) presenting a “spin-off” from the Genes from Space initiative on ocean with his genEOcean fellowship with ESA.
