Switzerland is proud to announce its candidacy to host the International Astronautical Congress (IAC) in Geneva in 2029.

The announcement was made during the Host Summit at IAC 2025 in Sydney, where Switzerland presented its vision for bringing the global space community together in Geneva.

With a dynamic and growing space ecosystem of more than 130 companies and institutions, Switzerland is active across a wide range of fields, from security and connectivity to aerospace and space innovation. The country offers a strong combination of technological expertise, research excellence, and international collaboration.

At the heart of the candidacy is Geneva, a city renowned for its central European location, international organisations, and long-standing tradition of diplomacy. Together with its strong research and industrial community, Geneva would offer an inspiring setting for discussions, partnerships, and new opportunities in space.

As the candidacy process gets underway, Switzerland looks forward to engaging with the international and Swiss space communities and building this ambition together with industry, academia, institutions, and other key stakeholders.

The journey to IAC 2029 starts now – and Switzerland is ready to welcome the world.
